Disability has been set out as a high priority at UNISON national conference, demanding better training for managers who complete "Return to work" after a period of sick leave.  Its very prevelent that we as UNISON are not being consulted at the beginning of the process, this then very often results in our disabled members receiving a stage 1 warning.

We call on hr staff & managers to be trained to understand what the DDA stands for, to work with the employee, and if reasonable adjustments are to be implemented, then let's deliver.

This can only be the way forward to empower all of us, we all are faced with difficult times ahead, we need to be united.
