The TUC is launching brand new leadership schools for LGBT+ and disabled workers.

Through a series of six two-hour evening sessions participants will develop their skills and confidence to step up as leaders in their unions and beyond.

The programmes will bring together cohorts of 20 union reps and activists to learn and share expertise and experience. The programmes will provide the groups with the opportunity to:

• Explore their own approach to leadership and what authentic leadership could look like
• Develop a deeper understanding of the trade union movement including employment law, structures, and organisational and industrial challenges
• Develop a network of supportive leaders in the trade union movement which enables further leadership development

The LGBT+ leadership programme will begin on 8 February 2023 and the disabled workers’ leadership programme on 29 March 2023. The deadline for applications is noon on Friday 9 December 2022.

More information on the schools and how to apply is on the TUC site.
