UNISON knows how vital the work carried out by migrant workers is for the United Kingdom’s precious public services. Without migrant workers, our health and social care services, would have even higher vacancy rates which would mean these services would crumble.

The Government also wants to talk about immigration following it’s introduction of a new Immigration Policy. This dreadful policy will make it even harder for people to come to this country and work. This government has created an environment which causes migrant workers anxiety and uncertainty and makes them more vulnerable to exploitation by unscrupulous employers.

If you are a migrant worker, UNISON can support in several ways.

Free immigration advice
UNISON works with the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) to provide free immigration advice to UNISON members and their close family members.  See here for further details.

Migrant Workers Network
UNISON offers a strong community where you can connect with fellow migrant workers, receive news and advice from UNISON, and support one another. Sign up to the Migrant Workers Network here.
