In April, the local government employers made you a pay offer of 3.3%.
Since 2010, the value of local government pay has dropped by an average of 26% in real terms, and the pay offer falls far short of what you need and deserve. That’s why UNISON’s committee of leading activists decided to reject the offer.
Use our pay calculator to find out what the offer means for you.
We will be balloting over 200,000 members this July in selected employers. If your employer has not been included, you will not receive a ballot paper, but any improvements to the offer won through the campaign will apply to everyone.
The ballot opens Thursday 9 July and closes Thursday 6 August. You can find the latest campaign updates on our website.
If we are not balloting in your workplace, we still need your help to improve the offer.
Please take a moment to email the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves and ask her to urgently increase funding for local government to enable the pay rise that you need and deserve.
Members not in the ballot can also help get the vote out, for example by taking part in phone banking, allowing you to contact your fellow members and encourage them to take part.
To register for phone banking and other activities to help win better pay, sign the pledge and UNISON will be in contact.
